So many adventures!

Standard

I feel like I haven’t updated my blog in ages. The time has been flying by and it seems like I am always busy doing something. Since my last post I have been to Scotland, Paris, Wales, Morocco, and Germany! I have experienced so much in such a short amount of time, it reminds me just how lucky I am to be able to have this experience.

Just looking at some stones

Standard

This weekend I was able to see Stonehenge in Amesbury, Wiltshire, England. This excursion was provided by IFSA, they provided buses that took us to Stonehenge and Salisbury. It was amazing to see the magnificent stone circle of Stonehenge that has been standing since 2500-3000 B.C. Also, in my Globalization class this week we were able to take a tour of the Bank of England Museum. It was completely free to visit and it was interesting to learn about the history of their currency, along with being able to hold a real block of gold!

Cliffs, Leprechauns, and Pubs 🍀

Standard

This past weekend I was able to experience the beauty of Ireland! We stayed in Dublin but took an all day tour to the Cliffs of Moher. The cliffs were absolutely breathtaking. Even though I took some incredible pictures, they can’t do it justice. The tour was from 7 am until around 8 at night. It took us to various different places throughout the day such as the river Shannon, another set of cliffs, and a pub. I was amazed by how close everything was in Dublin compared to London. During my time there I only had to take the bus once and that was to get to the airport. It was so nice being able to walk everywhere except that fact that it was absolutely freezing there. The atmosphere in the pubs is very different from London, there was a live music at just about every single one. I was able to do the Guinness brewery tour, where I learned how to pour a pint of Guinness. Towards the end of our stay we went to a well known tourist attraction, the leprechaun museum. The museum is geared towards kids but the majority of people on the tour were adults. Overall it was a great experience and I cannot wait to go back!

Hola Barcelona!

Standard

I successfully embarked on my first trip from London! Barcelona was extremely beautiful and after only four days there I could see myself packing up and moving there. On our second day there we went on a free walking tour that was provided by our hostel and guide did a fantastic job. He knew all about the history and culture of Barcelona. Even though it was a lot to take in, I enjoyed learning the history behind all the buildings and monuments I was seeing. I went and saw Park Guell after the walking tour and it really captured Barcelona’s beauty. I had always seen pictures of the park on pinterest and after seeing it in person the pictures can not compare. I found pastry shops almost everywhere I went and they were the most delicious things I have ever had! Maria, Lexi, and I probably ate pastries twice a day if not more, and I do not regret it all. The last thing I did in Barcelona was a tapas tour. Tapas are a wide variety of appetizers or snacks that they eat in Spanish culture. The tour was amazing, and we tried a number of different dishes, wine, cider, and sangria. After my weekend in Barcelona, I can not wait to go back and visit again!

Big Adventures

Standard

I am quickly coming to terms with the reality that in less than 48 hours I will no longer be living in America, but London, England. I could not be more excited to embark on this trip of a lifetime that will undoubtedly change both my life, and view of the world. I am so thankful for this opportunity to travel and explore the beauty of the world. Although I know I will miss home horribly, I can’t wait for all the adventures.
